Announces Distinguished Program Committee Appointments Judy Tsui, Fred Teng and John MM Williamson
Hong Kong, 9 October 2019

The Greater Bay Area Impact Forum Foundation Limited has announced three influential appointments to its Program Committee, in advance of the Foundation’s first annual flagship event, the Greater Bay Area Impact Forum to be held in Hong Kong, November 18 and in Shenzhen, November 19-20, 2019.

The Program Committee will serve to advise on the upcoming GBA Impact Forum, and on seminars, roundtables and other events to be organized by the Foundation on an ongoing basis.

Programs and events will center around the Foundation’s research work to support the development of the 9+2 cities of the GBA, including Hong Kong, in a way that is sustainable, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG).

Dr. Judy Tsui, Senior Advisor at Institute for New Economic Thinking, Author and board director said, “I am excited to contribute to the research and debate of the Greater Bay Area Impact Forum. We are now witnessing the rapid development of the 11 Greater Bay Area cities, which together are becoming a global economic powerhouse. It is crucial that this development be supported by advances in education, investment environment, international collaboration, quality of life and harmonious living so that regional and global talent would embrace it as an attractive place to invest, live and work. “

Fred Teng, President of the America China Public Affairs Institute (ACPAI), remarked, “The Greater Bay Area Impact Forum Foundation Limited is undertaking important work for the sustainable development of all the GBA cities. The Foundation’s research work will provide essential information to policy makers while its annual GBA Impact Forum and other programs will convene international and regional thought leaders for the sharing of critical insights. I am delighted contribute to this worthy endeavor.”

John MM Williamson, Managing Director at GENERATIONS Limited, and Independent Non-Executive Director of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), remarked on the need for an organization that would focus on sustainable development measurement and policy recommendations for the GBA 9+2 cities. “As we have seen in recent years, rapid growth and the widening gap in incomes, housing, education and job opportunities, have had a significant impact on society, and especially on the outlook for young people. I look forward to assisting the Greater Bay Area Impact Forum in creating programs that will lead to positive changes in attitude and policymaking, to the benefit of all stakeholders in the future.

“The Foundation is honored to have the participation of Prof. Tsui, Mr. Teng and Mr. Williamson as distinguished members of our Program Committee” said Dr. C. K.
